Adam Partridge
Adam Partridge a native New Yorker was introduced to the piano at the age of six by his mother. As his interest in guitar progressed at the age of 17, he began to study jazz at Queen's College for about two years. His participation in the jazz program at Queen's College influenced his compositional approach to music as well as his musical style. Luckily during his High School education Adam was exposed to the music notation software Sibelius. It was through this early introduction of composing music with computers that sparked his interest in pursuing music technology and composition.
Throughout his educational career at Northeastern Adam became interested in ethnomusicology as well as composition for film. This lead to his collaboration with Pablo Ramazza in the Spring of 2008.
In August 2007, Adam Partridge and Pablo Ramazza, a forty year-old Argentine filmmaker, met by means of a friend of a friend. What began as a modest hope to gain exposure to the music and culture of Buenos Aires and an opportunity to compose for one of Pablo's films, crescendo into an inspiring creative relationship and strong friendship between Partridge and Ramazza. Despite limited knowledge of the other's language, the two agreed to collaborate on each other's dreams. Pablo had always harbored a desire to pursue a project on Argentine music to present to a wide audience. Adam's interest in ethnomusicology was enlivened by what he heard in the local milongas and cultural centers and he began to formulate a scope for Pablo's idea.
Pablo and Adam said their goodbyes in June 18 2008, with the hopes that Adam is successful in finding further support for their proposed documentary so that they may continue to work together. His experience in Buenos Aires has had a tremendous influence on Adam's musical output once he returned. Adam's current style seeks to synthesize and communicate his global influences and experiences through his music.
